Madison County Extension Office located at 810 Cook Ave is a good source of
classes, gardening information, and info on the

Master Gardener’s Organization   Madison County Master Gardeners are
community volunteers who support and engage in projects and activities that will
enhance the quality of life for Madison County residents.


The CASA Community Garden is one of the oldest community gardens, volunteer
driven in the state of Alabama.  The Garden is located at 4725 Bob Wallace Avenue
and is a garden that is planted, maintained, harvested and distributed entirely by
volunteers. All produce from the garden is delivered to our elderly and homebound
clients throughout Madison County.  They are always looking for volunteers.  
     

Huntsville Botanical Gardens is located at 4747 Bob Wallace Avenue, Huntsville, AL
35805.  It is a wonderful 100 acres of gardens, events, classes, and special displays.  
Joining one of the Societies or just taking classes is a great way to learn about your
particular gardening interest.


Huntsville Botanical Gardens Mulch Pile is free to everyone.  You will need some
way to haul it and a shovel.  If you have a truck or trailer, you can get it loaded with a
loader.  Check to see what days that can be done.  You may want to check with the
Huntsville Botanical gardens to see when it is open.  It is located on Bob Wallace Ave
between the CASA garden and the Botanical Gardens.  There is a sign.

Where to buy seeds and plants?  In the spring time you can purchase seeds and
plants many places.  If you want to purchase seeds in bulk, which is always a cheaper
way, then you may want to try.
